DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, weeds are a natural part of our environment. All bulk soils will contain varying amounts of weed seed; however, some have very low weed pressure, such as “black earth” and others like “topsoil” have the potential for more. “Topsoil” just as the name implies, is the top few inches of soil off a field. This topsoil contains the organic matter and nutrients from decomposed plant matter including that of weeds. These weed seeds from whatever weeds have grown in the soil before are too small to be screened, thus remaining in the soil. Also, differences in the natural environment can cause the actual product to differ depending on location and processing.
